Teatime with Burleigh

As you can tell, I love Burleigh Pottery and can’t seem to get enough of their beautiful, timeless pieces. I have featured Burleigh pieces in my collection many times on this blog and will continue to do so, especially if I snag new pieces! I was able to enjoy lovely tea and sweets at home recently and was particularly excited to add a cake plate and a wonderful book about Burleigh to my collection!

Asiatic Pheasant Blue

Burleigh’s Asiatic Pheasant which was introduced back in 1862 is one of their most popular patterns and the light, pale blue version is so classic. I have the tea set and other pieces of this pattern in this color and came across this lovely cake plate which I was able to purchase on Replacements. This beautiful plate with scalloped edges are perfect for cakes, pies, tarts or you can also use it as a cheese plate! For teatime, I used this plate to showcase pretty petit fours, mini tarts and cheesecakes from Whole Foods.

What I also appreciate about this collection is its versatility. Some pottery patterns or color don’t really showcase certain dishes well, but these pieces just goes with every type of dish; whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, or tea you can’t go wrong. Story of Burleigh

This coffee table book about Burleigh Pottery, which is complete with Burleigh’s history and all of their collection is simply amazing! I did not realize this book was around and found this while browsing an online shop. You can find copies of this book through ebay or Amazon and although the price can be over $100.00 for a used copy, it’s worth it for anyone who is a fan of Burleigh! After reading this book, I absolutely feel the need to visit the Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent soon!
